Why This Site Exists

General Studies Programs exists to give prospective students one place to compare programs on the figures that can be checked: what a college charges, how many of its students finish, and how many general studies degrees it awards. Each ranked program also carries what its college says about it, written from the college's own pages and checked against them.

How We Work

Every program in our rankings is drawn from the federal records each college reports about itself to IPEDS, and every college can be checked against the Department of Education's accreditation database. We do not invent rankings. See our methodology for the full scoring model.

Who Edits the Site

Zoe MacDougall holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Washington and is the founder and editor of General Studies Programs.

How the Site Is Funded

This site may receive compensation when readers request information from or enroll in programs featured here. Sponsored placements are labeled and never change a rank. Accreditation status, wage data and program structure data come from official records and are reported the same way regardless of partnership status.

Questions about a ranking, a program description or a correction can go to taylor@savogroup.com.
